gym tolleranceGym Tollerance è uno scambio di giovani incentrato sul tema della tolleranza attraverso lo sport che si svolgerà dal 20 al 28 Maggio 2013. Esso persegue l’obiettivo di uno sviluppo della comprensione reciproca attraverso attività sportive, simulazioni, attività di condivisione e giochi di ruolo. Il metodo utilizzato è l’educazione non formale per consentire a tutti i partecipanti una migliore comprensione e assimilazione dei temi proposti. La sede del progetto sarà Palermo, in Sicilia, nel convento di Carmelitani: nella città di Palermo, pochi minuti a piedi dalla stazione centrale . In questo progetto ci sono 9 Paesi partner coinvolti con 5 persone per Nazione: Repubblica Ceca, Cipro, Georgia, Grecia, ex Repubblica iugoslava di Macedonia, Serbia, Svezia, Ucraina, Italia.

Negli ultimi anni abbiamo affrontato numerosi studi attorno alla tematica della tolleranza in due aree geografiche distinte: la prima è l’area israelo-palestinese e la seconda è all’interno dei Balcani con una situazione delicata interna alla Repubblica di Macedonia con le sue numerose minoranze, in particolar modo quella albanese. Della prima area c’è poco da dire che non sia già noto ai più.
Per quanto riguarda la seconda area, c’è da sapere che all’interno del Paese sopra citato, oltre alla maggioranza macedone (di poco al di sopra del 60% su una popolazione di due milioni di abitanti), sono presenti numerose minoranze etniche, la più grande delle quali è quella albanese con circa il 26% sul totale degli abitanti e, per legge, l’albanese è lingua ufficiale a livello comunale nei comuni in cui vi è presenza etnica albanese superiore al 20% della popolazione. Questo è lo sfondo di un clima di tensione e di un incomprensione reciproca in cui i partiti politici estremisti fioriscono, favorendo un’ulteriore clima di intolleranza: un circolo vizioso che ci proponiamo di favorirne la cessazione.

Ma la tematica della tolleranza non è da sviluppare solo nelle aree già citate: ogni Paese, chi più chi meno, ha i propri conflitti interni riguardanti l’intolleranza verso questa o quella etnia. Affrontare insieme l’argomento della tolleranza, non potrà che dare beneficio a tutti i suoi partecipanti. Ci sarebbe piaciuto far partecipare associazioni provenienti sia da Israele che dalla Palestina, ma purtroppo non è stato possibile. Siamo invece riusciti a coinvolgere un’associazione Macedone e altre provenienti dai Balcani, con problematiche simili. In ogni caso questi studi fatti in passato ci hanno motivato a realizzare comunque un progetto che favorisse la comprensione reciproca fra i diversi Paesi.
Attraverso il linguaggio comune dello sport puntiamo ad aumentare la comprensione reciproca e la tolleranza nonché, infine, gettare le basi per una cooperazione giovanile per progetti futuri che coinvolga le delegazioni invitate.
